Although a beginner with WordPress, I've been working with other website templates for a couple of years. My aim is to become a designer using WordPress, but I probably qualify as an end-user/consultant at this stage.
I've been using WordPress.com for several years as a blog; last year I started my own WordPress.org website, and am now working on several other people's professional sites. My clients include architects, writers and musicians.
I took Al Davis's Intro to WordPress course at George Brown College in September of 2012. He took us through the basics, and I have since purchased the wootheme Canvas. Currently I'm learning my way around that
As a freelancer, I find it important to network with others to keep up my ambition! Socializing with other people who are self-employed breaks the monotony of a one-person office routine. Also, I have a big interest in learning new skills by sharing in meetups and being part of a dynamic community such as the Toronto group seems! Note to editor: change Message Boards list to 'WordCamp Toronto 2013.'
I am an artist, turned interior designer, turned editor, writer and graphic designer. I love the mix of text and images and in my spare time play around with photography and collage. One goal I have is to write and illustrate a graphic novel.
