Welcome to the group, I am also a Sansei and I used to speak Japanese so many years ago and we also live in Etobicoke and attended few events at the JCCC and the annual Toronto Buddhist bazaar. Please feel free to attend our events I would say the Sansei members that are Japanese Canadians about half or more of us do not speak the language.
