Success in life often requires triumph over adversity. With each passing day we grow and become new again. Each year, thousands of people worldwide are discovering the proven benefits of facing life's challenges with a focus on developing, maintaining and adopting an ongoing plan to face the hurdles we encounter as part of our shared lived experiences.
The personal empowerment that a successful recovery plan offers can change lives. After all, we all want the peace of mind that comes with wellness.
Many people say "I got sick..." but recovery lets us say "I got better..."
Welcome to the WRAP® Toronto Meetup Group. Some of us here are new to WRAP®. Some of us work as certified facilitators helping and guiding others. In this group, we discuss many elements of recovery and concentrate on each member's strengths.
We are a recovery-focused group with our roots in the evidence-based research and practice of the Copeland Center and the Wellness Recovery Action Plan.
WRAP® can guide participants to wellness through identifying the personal skills and tools each one of us possess, while offering an assortment of techniques that highlight hope, personal responsibility, education, self-advocacy and support.
WRAP® - Wellness Recovery Action Plan - is a holistic approach to recovery. Many members of this Meetup Group have taken WRAP® courses and are in fact certified to facilitate others in their recovery using the principles of the plan. We don't claim to have all the answers but through our keen knowledge and interpretation of the principles founded by Mary Ellen Copeland, we are engaging each other in the very real process of communication and discovery of what it means to be an active participant in mental health and recovery.
