Repeal the SAFE Act. We're marching on Albany May 21!

From: Tim A.
Sent on: Sunday, April 28, 2013 9:37 PM

From our buddy Al B. on the front:

Please distribute this message far and wide - we are on the march - we will not be denied.

This will be as brief as possible but still give you the facts and the Action Plan Direction:

FIRST: A “Team” THANK YOU to each and every one of the 1,200 dedicated people who sacrificed and attended the rally. This continuing support WILL lead to success in the REPEAL of the Safe Act. Note; Elmira was a small regional venue – 1200 people demonstrates continuing growth of our movement. A survey indicated that approx. 850 of the 1200 attendees are newcomers to the movement. Great job Elmira – Thank you

STARTING WITH THE SHORTCOMINGS OF THE RALLY; too many politicians spoke and too much political stroking occurred. This movement MUST remain “We the People” – OUR VOICE – not politicians pushing their own book. We pledge to improve future events by limiting those elected as speakers, limiting political rhetoric and holding the political side to a bare minimum. We will not be “recruited” to any political side. Top Down Won’t Work – Bottom up WILL is our message to the elected. Grassroots – “We the People” – the people’s VOICE – is the focus. We Demand the full repeal of The Safe Act!

REPEAL THE SAFE ACT ACTION BECOMES A REALITY: Assemblyman Steve Katz personally presented “OUR” repeal the Safe Act bill – a simple ½ page legal – registered proposed law. Steve laid out a course for us to get this bill to a vote by the Senate and Assembly. Steve said, it is quite simple – organize the biggest public out cry demanding that the legislature bring bill #A5955 – Repeal The Safe Act up for a vote. Steve will do everything possible to get A5955 to a vote by May 21. WE ARE NOW ON THE MARCH!!!

760 POSTCARDS DELIVERED TO ALBANY: Elmira marks the beginning of our MARCH ON ALBANY. Yes – the effort is now earnestly in full action mode. 760 people signed a postcard demanding that bill #A5955 come up for a vote before May 21. We gathered these 760 postcards and Melody Burns will deliver them to the legislators in Albany on Monday. This is the first batch of many they will receive between now and the time they actually do bring our bill to the floor for a vote. May 21st is a line in the sand – VOTE on “OUR” repeal bill. Thank you Mr. Katz – we applaud your courage and dedication to “We the People”.

A personal note from Al Belardinelli (sorry folks – I just gotta do it): Mushmouth Marchione and all the rest of the pathetic Politicians with the phony repeal the Safe Act bills – that are nothing more than amending a piece of crap that are being pushed to gain political favor – GO HOME! Support Steve Katz’s bill #5955 – we demand it!

ELMIRA – ANOTHER GREAT DAY FOR FREEDOM & JUSTICE: Our grassroots movement is a work in progress. Each rally venue has taught us how to hone and improve our efforts for the next event. We have made mistakes along the way and our corrections and improvements will continue, thanks to all of your input. The people’s voice will be heard – crystal clear. We will NOT quit – We will NOT back down. We will build to a mass that is capable of REPEALING “The Safe Act”. We WILL remove this scourge from our society.

MAY 21 – MARCH ON ALBANY – A HISTORIC DAY IT WILL BE
REPEAL THE SAFE ACT: Our LOUD VOICE will force bill # A5955 to be voted on in Albany. From now until May 21st ALL efforts should be put into this simple REPEAL OF THE SAFE ACT law. Scream, Yell, Rant and Rave – Shout far and wide.
“WE THE PEOPLE” DEMAND A VOTE ON BILL #A5955 REPEAL THE SAFE ACT

THE DATE IS SET – MAY 21 – DETAILS TO FOLLOW

The time has come to put the chess playing aside – damn any politician that tells you otherwise.
Below is the actual repeal bill that we demand to be enacted. Simple / clean REPEAL THE SAFE ACT LAW. NO EXCUSES – NO LIES – NO “PROCEDURAL” BLOCKAGE. Bill # A5955 is complete and lingers in Albany.
ACT ON IT NOW! There is a “Message of Necessity” this time. Our entire state is in peril – top to bottom – this law is destroying us. Albany do your job! “We the People” – yes – you and I and all the people we can muster CAN become the biggest public outcry in history….. WE CAN force Albany to take this to a vote – yea or nay.

Matters not if you are for or against gun control – the Safe Act is nothing but corruption.
Unconstitutional and wrongly enacted – this shameful law must go. Who dares say no?

We are Grassroots – nothing fancy – not even a Website or face-book. Our sole way to communicate is through personal email and phone. We urge ALL plain folks to spread the word and join us.

BILL #5955 IN ITS ENTIRETY:

NEW YORK STATE ASSEMBLY
MEMORANDUM IN SUPPORT OF LEGISLATION
submitted in accordance with Assembly Rule III, Sec 1(f)
BILL NUMBER: A5955
SPONSOR: Katz
TITLE OF BILL: An act to repeal chapter 1 of the laws of 2013, amending the criminal procedure law and
other laws relating to suspension and revocation of firearms licenses
PURPOSE OF THE BILL:
This legislation would repeal the NYS SAFE Act.
JUSTIFICATION:
The S.A.F.E. Act is not the answer to the problems we have with firearms in society because it fails
to address any of the underlying issues.

The right to bear arms is guaranteed by the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, as well as
the Civil Rights Law of the State of New York; and the New York State Secure Ammunition and
Firearms Enforcement Act of 2013 which was rushed to passage by the New York State Senate,
Assembly and Governor, will have a detrimental effect on hunters, sportsmen and legal gun owners,
while failing to adequately address illegal guns and mental illness. This legislation creates an environment
in the state which is hostile to gun manufacture and ownership.

Repealing this act will grant New York State the time to target the real issues at hand and promote a safer
and peaceful environment for all residents, without infringing on Constitutional rights.
PRIOR LEGISLATIVE HISTORY:
New Bill
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
None
EFFECTIVE DATE:
This act shall take effect immediately.
