Under the current proposal for Dane County Commuter Rail, there will be 7,840 street crossings by trains per day! If you include street, bike, and pedestrian crossings, the number grows to 9,040! Can you imagine how these thousands of crossings will affect traffic for those unable or uninterested in commuting by rail? You'll have plenty of time to ponder this question as you're waiting for yet another train to pass by on your way to work...
