A simple 7 mile route, easy uphills and one steep downhill. We'll be up on the ridge so hopefully we'll see some good views. Haven't taken a cow count; perhaps they're still on the east side of the park (fingers crossed).
Route: Old Briones Trail / right on Briones Crest / left on Abrigo Valley / left on Mott / right on Briones Crest / left on Old Briones back to the parking lot.
[NOTE: In the event that anyone gets separated from the group, I suggest you grab a map at the staging area so you can find your way back. I will still wait at junctions, but can't hold the faster folks back too long. Likewise, for the faster folks, if you get too far ahead, you'll need to find your way back to the group or the parking lot.]
DIRECTIONS TOBRIONES RD STAGING AREA:
(please look at a map before you leave home-we will start on time)
From Alhambra Valley Rd/Reliez Valley Rd in Martinez, turn onto Briones Rd (a very narrow twisty road) and drive up to the top. As Briones Rd is easy to miss, plug[masked],[masked] into Google maps and zoom in for a view of the turn off. There is a sign that says 'NOT A THROUGH STREET'.
