Nejedly to Port Costa-DON'T FORGET DST STARTS SUNDAY!

This hike was proposed by Faith and is a long, dry hike with a bar at the turn around point.  You'll have views of the Carquinez Straits, rolling hills and the tiny town that time forgot, Port Costa, whose main attraction is the dive bar on the main drag.

It's extremely lucky that Faith suggested this hike when she did, because in a month, they're going to close it down for two years while they work on repairing the road.  Faith and I scoped this out Friday and we have 2 or 3 options. Let's all meet at Nejedly staging area, upper parking lot. The map is correct.  Not sure why it wasn't before, but there's only one Nejedly in Carquinez Regional Shoreline park and it's in Martinez off of Carquinez Scenic Drive just past the cemetaries.

We suggest you bring something to eat, as the bar has rather expensive food with limited variety. Supposedly they allow dogs in the outside seating area, but I don't want to overload them so I'd like to limit the number of dogs with owners that go for a drink.  We could rotate or split up with non-drinkers returning sooner if they wish.

Hike rating:  Moderate

Hiking pace: semi fast

This hike will leave PROMPTLY at the start time at 10am but because of DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME, it will feel like 9am.  :)

Efforts will be made to keep the group together, however, each person will be responsible for himself - if you are unable to keep up with the group pace, the organizer will not be on the lookout for you. It is recommended that you obtain a map at the beginning of the hike in case the group is separated.

It took lots of shampoo and 3 rinses before Rasta stopped dripping green and even though he still has a faint odeur de manure, it was still worth it. Coco begs to differ.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
