Carquinez Regional Shoreline in Martinez-Nejedly staging area

  • October 5, 2013 · 9:00 AM

The park is rather small and we typically do a loop and then a straight and back, so our route will be lollipop-shaped and about 6 miles. There will most definitely be cows. There is also a tiresome long steepish hill to climb up and go down and another shorter but just as steepish one later on, hence the rating of moderate. The ridge offers views of Benicia, the bridge, and Grizzly Bay.

Hike rating:  Moderate

Hiking pace:  Semi-fast

Start time: We will wait 5 minutes after the posted start for latecomers.

This parking lot is easy to find once you find the street. Carquinez Scenic Route is also called Snake Rd. I'll leave you to find the way to it.

Responsibility: Each person will be responsible for him/herself - We will wait a reasonable length of time at junctions, however, for the fast or slow, it is recommended that you obtain a map at the beginning of the hike in case the group is separated.
