Briones Loop - approximately 5 miles

Hike rating: Moderate

Flat, downhill and one big hill half way through followed by a few more steep ones and some gradual slopes.

There will probably be many cows along the way...

Hiking pace: relaxed

Bring water for you and your dog.

We will wait 5 minutes after the posted start for latecomers.

**** Briones road is a small windy road near the intersection of Reliez and Alhambra Valley Rd. Take Briones road all the way till it dead ends at the top.

Efforts will be made to keep the group together but each person will be responsible for himself - if you are unable to keep up with the group pace, the organizer may not be on the lookout for you. It is recommended that you obtain a map at the beginning of the hike in case the group is separated.

Perfect pace...was able to see a nice fat coyote on the way. And the tangerine and apple trees were a pleasant treat. Thanks for leading Thanh.

Hmm maybe the tangerine and apple trees have something to do with the fat coyote.

Remember to keep dogs on leash in the parking lot though. Rangers will ticket if they are there.

I won't be able to attend, but have been meaning to write the group, I take my lab to Briones all the time. Last week she jumped in that nasty green water...(she swims there all the time) By the time we got to the car, she couldn't stop throwing up, by the time I got her home she was unsteady on her legs & wouldn't eat or drink. Took her to the ER vet to the tune of nearly $600. She's OK now, but they were concerned it might be an algae neurotoxin, apparently fatal. She's not allowed to swim at Briones until it rains & the water clears up.
Just wanted to alert the group. I don't know that is what it was cuz she was treated quickly, but scared the day lights outta me.
Be careful and have an awesome hike!

Thank you Janis for the warning. I will inform attendees to beware of the danger.
