The hike starts out a bit steep, but we will take our time to get to the top. It has beautiful views and the path is wide and very nice.  It should take about 3 hours to walk until lunch. Total hike time is 4 hours.

We will need to put our dogs on leash for the last 45 minutes as we walk the dogs on-leash via the Iron Horse Trail and stop to eat lunch.  After a 30 minute lunch stop, we'll continue to talk along the Iron Horse Trail then up a street back to the cars.  This is a long loop of about 9 miles total.

Directions to Trailhead:
Take Hwy 680, exit Sycamore Blvd, head WEST. Cross San Ramon Valley Blvd. Past the 2nd stop sign, this turns into Remington Loop. This is a residential street. Trail head starts opposite 253 Remington Loop (between 252 and 246).

TrailHead Parking Fee: no charge

Hike rating:  Challenging

Hiking pace:  Semi-fast

Start time: We will wait 5 minutes after the posted start for latecomers.

Responsibility: Each person will be responsible for him/herself - We will wait a reasonable length of time at junctions, however, for the fast or slow...it is recommended that you obtain a map at the beginning of the hike in case the group is separated.

Had a great time! Thought I'd share my adventure I had afterwards: driving home a dog was walking the shoulder of i680. Four cars barricaded her off to the shoulder away from traffic. I was able to pull over and lasso her over since Brenda offered up her treats and leash. It so happened that one of the drivers was a vet tech with a rescue organization who was able to take her.

Hi Everyone, I will not be able to make it today. I have a cut on my foot. I soaked it last night and thought is would be OK for today, but it is rather sore. I don't want to irritate it further. I will go by the Boulangerie and hang out and hopefully 'meet up' with you. I am an older lady with short red hair and a young black Doberman, Teddy Bear.
