From a Request to do Briones Again...7 Miles...Bear Creek Staging

I was going to change locations this time...but someone mentioned a specific trail to me which then gave me a fun route in mind.

Note: Map MAY be way off - if it uses Bing. I will try to correct, but if not familiar with this entrance please stay tuned for details or PM me. I just tried again, and it opened with Google at the entrance where you turn in.

Entrance is on Bear Creek Rd between Happy Valley and Alhambra Valley Rd.

Meet us at the last parking lot  at the Bear Creek Staging Area. Keep driving straight past the pay booth (which seems to be closed for the winter, if open it's $3 + $1 per dog (and last week they gave out treats) or a short walk from the road). The first parking lot is small, so you may need to park in one of the other lots.

Overall hike will be just over 7 miles, I will post the route before the hike.

Update: Here is the approximate route. Had some mapping issues, for one we will not go on the resident road Springhill. Also, we may take a shorter route rather than the ones shown at miles 4-5. There is a bathroom after halfway near the Girl Scout Council.

Hike rating: Moderate, one hill a bit long.

Pace: Moderate

We will wait 10 minutes after the posted start for latecomers.

Efforts will be made to keep the group together. Please read liability disclaimer:

We understand that your "Yes" RSVP to this event means you accept the following:

Great seeing you all! Fiona had a bath and a haircut as some sap and burrs were working their way in. Thanks so much for kicking my butt Lisa-Marie xo

Note: I just corrected directions about the parking lot. I did mean the last parking lot, not to turn left at the pay booth (which was open last week, and had doggie treats). I you have not been to this park before and have questions, I will be checking any posts. The map pointer is directed at the entrance, but we are meeting inside where the trails start, toward the Archery Range.
