Morning hike to burn off the T-day calories - 6 miles

I discovered this park many years ago on Thanskgiving day and it has now become my traditional T-day calorie burner hike.

This really is one of my favorite all time hikes in terms of simplicity and wonderful hills early on in the hike followed by an easy return to the parking lot.

Definitely could see cows, coyotes, horses or sheep -usually not all on the same hike ...

I expect the hike to be about three hours which should get folks home in plenty of time for chowing down : )

Brings snacks, poopie bags and water.

Please everyone: dogs on leash in the parking lot.

Rain does not cancel - just turns it into a 4 mile out and back on the main trail which is  mostly paved.

Andrea and anyone else who's never been to this staging area: Click on the link above (Wildcat Canyon Park Alvarado staging area) and it will show you a map that indicates the parking lot. The address is the closest HOUSE to the park and not quite accurate.
