Write-In East Regional Library

For those new to us, this is a park-your-butt-in-a-chair and-work group. This is a guaranteed three hours each week that you can devote to any project you have. This is not a critique group. This is not a "share your work" group. We don't give lectures and we don't have guests, not that there's anything wrong with that, but there are other great groups for those purposes already in the Triangle. This is more of a "the dryer is making too much noise, the dog won't stop barking, the phone won't stop ringing, get me out of here, I need some space" kind of group. For me, it's a "I'm tired of having an orange cat climb all over my keyboard as I try to type" group.

Our regular meetings are every Tuesday from 6 to 9pm. This is your time and you're free to come and go as you please. There is some talking (camaraderie and advice) during breaks, but mostly everyone has their head down, typing away, which makes for a great encouraging/guilty vibe. (Guilty as in, "Dang, I need to be typing too!")

We don't seem to be getting the conference room but once in a blue moon anymore so now we typically get a table along the left side of the room, in the group study area. There are outlets for laptops.

From 440/beltline, take exit 13B, 64 Bus East, and go almost 6 miles. From 540, take exit 24B, also 64 Bus East, for almost 2 miles.

Turn Left onto Smithfield Rd (CVS, Walgreens, McDonalds, Hardees, all right there). In .3 miles, turn Left again onto Steeple Square Ct (a blue sign will point the way). The Library will be the first building on the right.

Hey guys, I'm sorry but I'm not going to be there tomorrow night either. Got a fun concert in Charlotte with my name on it! I hope John shows up so you'll have a full table. See you next week! Lousy leader out. :D

Sorry, gang. Just too much to do for work before heading to the beach for a week. I'll be writing next week while at the beach, and I'll think of you fondly :)

Shawne, please save tales of your "sordid" evening for when I return!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
