This monthly gathering explores the complimentary practices of seated meditation, pranayama (yogic breath/energy work), and internal alchemy (taoist breath/energy work).
Through the consistent practice of these exercises, mindfully coordinating posture, breath, and intention, there is a natural expansion and increased circulation of the vital life force in the body, improving the health and vitality of the body, bringing an increased clarity and focus to the mind, and ultimately opening one up more fully to the non-dual and integrated awareness of Self.
Maintaining a healthy, balanced and simple diet, and keeping the body strong and healthy through regular exercise (especially exercises of the yogic and/or qigong variety) is strongly recommended before exploring these practices in earnest, in order to get the full benefit of these more subtle practices. Also, to allow for optimal energy flow and circulation, please try to come to class with a relatively empty stomach... trying to eat at least 2 hours prior, or with a light meal, 1 hour prior.
This is a donation-based class. There is a $10 suggested donation, though no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
