Hike Rademacher Park AKA Hunter's Creek Park

  • Rademacher Memorial Park (Hunter's Creek Park)

11650-11798 Centerline Road, East Aurora, NY (map)

    42.736309 -78.548668

  • To get there, go through the village of East Aurora, and turn right at Olean Rd. (Rt. 16). After about two miles, turn left onto Blakeley Road (AKA Colgrave Rd), which becomes Centerline Rd. After a mile on Centerline, look for a sign.
  • Rademacher Memorial Park, more commonly known as Hunters Creek Park, is a 760-acre park within the Erie County park system and located near East Aurora/Wales, NY. There are trails of varying difficulty. I've classified this as a HIKE, because the trail is fairly uneven with numerous semi-steep inclines and lots of exposed tree roots. This fairly strenuous hike will take about 60-90 minutes. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear. Hopefully we'll still have some colorful fall foliage to enjoy.  Here are some pictures I took when we hiked it on Sept 7th and Oct. 12th:  http://cmd.shutterfly.com/commands/pictures/slideshow?site=huntercreekpark&page=huntercreekpark/pictures&album=8&albumPath=

Sorry, everyone, but I'm going to cancel this meetup. Really wanted to do this walk but snow and 23 mph winds expected tomorrow in the Hunters Creek area. We'll schedule it again if weather permits.

I hope to catch up with the group once I find better boots or micro spikes. Afraid mine will have me slipping and sliding tomorrow in the snow and wind.

Supposed to be in the low 20's tomorrow & windy. Not the type of hiking weather for me getting over a cold. Hope you guys all have fun. Maybe there will be a 40-50 deg weekend coming up soon to enjoy more.

Good on the 10:30 start..now if we can get thru a weekend without the 60mph winds bringing something down I'll be happy.

Mary Ive heard the "pink trail" is very scenic at this park, any thoughts on what trails you wish to go on or if you have experience on the pink trail ? And thanks for scheduling this same venue later in the morning on a saturday - will make it much more convenient for me to attend.

We walked the pink trail last weekend, but near the end, we switched to the red trail. Very invigorating. See you Sunday!!!
