I took over this group for one selfish reason. I said this is "the year of me". I needed to do something for me, I needed to get myself back into shape. I also needed to prove that Thyroid issues were just my excuse. I wanted to find support for me & I thought why not try to help someone else along the way. It can only be a win, win situation.
My goal is to walk at least twice a week. I need the excuse to get out there so please join me. I am from the south towns & am more familiar with those locations. One thought I had is to plan walks in and around your home towns so let me know where that is. I would appreciate hearing your goals, any suggestions you might have for the group, & giving me locations that you might enjoy or that you might even think to far to trek. Can't wait to meet everyone.
AND REMEMBER: This is "THE YEAR OF ME"....Whatever your reasons for joining...do this for ME....We are a friendly group...Come Walk with me...Come walk with us you'll be glad you did.
2012- THE YEAR OF MIND & BODY FITNESS
* I have been organizer of this group since August 2011. Since then I have attended 40 meetups and walked ( I wish I had kept track) countless miles. I have lost 16 lbs. gotten into clothes unseen for a long time and am having the best sleep in years. More important than that though are the people I have been meeting. Thank you to those who keep your commitment to walk when you RSVP. It means so much to me to have the encouragement & support. If you walk, I walk and for my well being - The whole package -Mind & Body Fitness -I need to walk. Walking with you and sharing in the little treasures around W.N.Y. has given me great pleasure. How many of you came out to join me in January, February and even March! I would not have stepped foot out that door had it not been for your commitment. Even before that though there was my little band of ladies & Matthias. What fun we had walking in Steglmeier & Reinstein Woods last Summer & Fall. Talking made the walk go that much faster. And speaking of faster, I may have gotten a bit faster on my feet but I still need to "stop and smell the roses". And of course how fast can I go when I always have that danged camera on my arm! Oh by the way I haven't seen a tree that I didn't love. Come walk with me and you'll see what I mean...."THE YEAR OF MIND & BODY FITNESS" you might be glad that you did.
