6 mile hike at Greenbelt Corridor Park in Denton

Greenbelt Corridor Park

This walk will take around 2 hours, so make sure to hydrate before the walk and bring water and maybe a snack with you.

IMPORTANT: There is a $7.00 entry fee (honor system) to the greenbelt unless you have a Texas State Park annual pass. Please make sure you pay and put the receipt in your windshield. There is a very hefty fine if they ticket your vehicle for non-payment and they seem to really enforce it on Sundays.

There is no drinking water along the trail. There are toilets at the entrance to the park.

It is a very easy wide flat gravel path through the woods. We will walk 3 miles and then turn and go back. If you don't know if you can walk 6 miles it's okay. You can head back at any point. It is safe with other people there walking, running, bike riding, walking dogs, etc.

We will meet in the parking lot near the big map of the park at 12:45 pm and we will start walking at 1:00 pm.

What a great find. Six miles was a nice challenge for a "first" walk. Enough to feel the burn but not too much. It was a wonderful way to kick-start my resolution to start living a healthier life in 2013.

Pat, I think I already RSVP'd. I walked today and my foot was really bothering me so I will probably come tomorrow but may only walk part way. Hope that's OK...

Sure Tammy. That is fine. Just walk as far as you can. Glad you are planning to come. Weather will be great. See you tomorrow.

Can I buy an annual pass on site?

    February 16, 2013

    • Pat D.

No. The annual passes are sold where there are park offices. This is not a staffed location. Isle du Bois Park Entrance off of FM455 Is where I bought my annual pass. Isle Du Bois Visitor Center
The Visitor Information Center is located about a quarter mile from the entrance to Ray Roberts Lake on FM 455 (East Chapman Road), with helpful staff and a wide selection of area maps and brochures.

Also, if you buy a pass, ask for the holder that they have to hang on the rear view mirror of your vehicle.
