North Texas Irish Festival - dog friendly (weather looks great!)

The North Texas Irish Festival will be held at Fair Park in Dallas the weekend of March 1 and 2nd. Weather permitting, I will be putting together a meetup to attend the festival on Saturday, March 1st during the day. We can take the train(s) (A-Train from Denton or DART from North Carrollton) to Fair Park or you can meet us there if you prefer to drive.

This is a dog-friendly event.  I am told there are lots of dogs at this festival.  Please keep in mind you must drive if you are bringing your dog.  The trains only allow service dogs to ride.

Stay tuned for more info as we get closer to the date and we see what the weather looks like.

For more info go to their website: http://www.ntif.org/index.html

Tickets are $14.00 online or at Tom Thumb stores/$15.00 at the gate. If you are interested in this event please RSVP so I can gauge the level of interest. If you love celtic music, good beer, leprechauns, the Irish jig, the color green and shamrocks like I do (hello, my name is Pat!) then join me for a fun day at the Irish Fest!

Bonus:  lots of walking!

This was my first time at Irish Fest. The entertainment was amazing! I was planning to stay until 2pm but ended up seeing one show after another and stayed until 9:00pm. Can't wait for next year!

I'm planning to go but I probably won't get there until about noon. Any ideas about where I could find y'all when I get there?

Sorry but I have never been so I don't know where we will be. Maybe by the Irish Stew and Guinness. LOL. I will email you my cell #. Text me when you get there and we can find each other.

I plan to get there via A-train and DART. That will be fun! I plan to stay until 2:00 pm. Let me know if you want to join me on the trains. Otherwise I will see you at the entrance at 10:30 am.

Pat I may be interested in taking the train too.

Please note if you are planning to take the DART from the North Carrollton/Frankford Station you have to pay to park there. I believe it is $2.00 unless you have a parking pass on your vehicle.

I remembered seeing something on the news about the end of paid parking, but apparently those lots won't be free parking again until this april

Denton folks - I am most likely going to take the A-train from Downtown Denton. There are other alternatives including driving to DART's North Carrollton/Frankford Station and some folks will just want to drive to Fair Park. I will email my cell number to all who sign up by Friday evening and we can arrange to meet at the entrance at 10:30 am when they open. I am looking forward to this festival. I have never been and I am told it is really nice.

We can iron out all of the transportation details as we get closer to the date. Keep in mind there are several options.

    February 17

  • Zac

Since the A-Train only runs every 2 hours on Saturdays, it might be a good idea to either carpool to or meet at the North Carrollton Station

    February 17

    • Zac

Also a round trip ticket would only be $5 instead of $10 then

      February 17

    • Pat D

Thanks Zac. If we met at the Dart train it would be cheaper and we would not have to deal with the less convenient A train schedule.

I'm hoping to be able to attend (for free) ... volunteering at the info booth Friday night
