Hi Gavin, Thanks for organising. That sounds very interesting. I am planning to come from London and was wondering if anybody else is coming from london? Maybe we can get a group ticket or share the petrol?

Anyone going via Egham who wants to meet up at 9.20 the station you can text me 07974 797943. I won't be hanging around but if I know you're there I'll find you.

Have to go to a rehearsal now tomorrow - shame! Have a lovely day though - apparently it's going to be very warm!

    April 12, 2014

  • Margaret W

Does anyone want to meet at Egham Station? I believe we can get a bus from there to the start point. Or alternatively is anyone driving out from the Twickenham area?

    April 8, 2014

    • Margaret W

Yes there's a train from London gets into Egham at 9.20 and then I believe it's a short walk to where you get a 9.34 bus (no 71) that should get us to the start point with about ten minutes to spare.

      April 11, 2014

    • SVM

Sorry I don't think i will be able to make it to this one!

      April 11, 2014

  • Ana

Hi everybody. I would like to know if it is possible to get there if you don't have a car.

    April 11, 2014

    • Margaret W

Ana some of us are going out to Egham on the train from where we catch a bus to the start point. You're welcome to join us. (see above for further details)

Hi If anyone is travelling from Farnborough, would it be possible to get a lift, otherwise I will aim to get the train.

    February 11, 2014

    • Zelda G.

Oh Julie, sorry to read this. Hope to catch up with you sometime in the future. All the best, Z.

Hi Julie, I've just seen Gavin's note on nos. If you change your mind and would like a lift just let me know :) Z.

  • Zelda G.

Argh, thanks for mentioning the 'bring a picnic' that bit had passed me by ;)

    April 9, 2014

  • Gavin

Please don't be put off by the seemingly large number attending this walk . I led a walk on a beautiful sunny day 2 weeks ago with 52 people signed up and in fact only 15 attended (much nicer) . I would be very surprised if we get more than 40 people on this walk and as it's a picnic lunch it shouldn't a problem . Hope to see you on Sunday at 10am and don't forget to bring a picnic . regards GAVIN

I look forward to being part of this group. See you all on Sunday :)

SVM , The postcode is SL4 2SG , the nearest station is Staines about 4 miles away . I've no idea about buses so I suspect it would be a cab ride to French Brothers Boathouse , Runnymede . Click on the map above where the red arrow shows the start point

  • Gavin

Hi Dawn & Phillip . The picnic is in the park next to the river (Alexandra Gardens) about 12-30pm . Turn right as you come off the boat . Walk along the tow path going away from Windsor town centre for 100 yards then cross the road ( Barry Avenue ) into the park . If it rains please meet us at the boat ticket hut at about 1-30pm .

    April 6, 2014

  • Phillip C.

I'm in the same boat as Dawn (no pun intended) - recovering from a foot injury and 9 miles is too much. Any idea of the likely location of the 'picnic lunch' and roughly what time?

    April 4, 2014

  • SVM

Hey Gavin, would you be sending out meet up point, nearest station etc later on?

    April 4, 2014

  • Dawn T.

I still can't walk the full 9 miles because of my injured foot. I wondered if I could get a return boat ticket (only £3 more than the single) and do the 4 miles walk in the afternoon. The boat gets to Windsor at 12:30. So where could I meet you?

    April 3, 2014

  • SVM

82 people. wow! That is certainly large number. We might be a flash crowd everywhere we go that day :)

    April 1, 2014

  • Helen V.

Sounds brilliant! Hope it's a nice day!!

The dates in my diary, fingers crossed for a lovely day like today. If anyone is coming from the Walton/Hersham/Weybridge area then I'd be interested in sharing a lift/petrol. I don't mind driving. Nikki

    • Pauline

Hi Nikki we are traveling from West Molesey if you want a lift

      March 16, 2014

    • Nikki B.

Thanks Pauline that would be great. I will get back to you nearer the time to confirm that I am going.

      March 22, 2014

  • Gavin

Trixie is most welcome ( but please check with French Brothers about dogs on their boats ) , I've added the nearest start postcode . Sorry Diana it's got to be a 10am start in order to finish the walk in time to catch the boat back . As I live in Epsom I'm not too good with transport options from NW3 to Runnymede but I'm sure the internet can help you .

  • sarah H.

Hi Gavin Looking forward to this walk and boat trip. Will it alright to bring Trixie, my dog? Do you have a postcode for the meeting places? I am terrible at directions and have to rely on my satnav!
