Summer Evening's Barnes to Richmond Riverside Walk

Another unmissable early evening walk watching the river shimmer as the sun descends. We'll start at Barnes Station and walk towards Barnes Bridge on the river from which point we will cover 6 miles of continuous flat riverside pathway, taking in Chiswick, Isleworth and Kew en-route. The walk should take around 2 hours.

Once in Richmond we can stop off at the White Cross Riverside Pub by Richmond Bridge in the sundown.

The return is an easy train ride between Richmond Station and Barnes Station.

Flat walk but Walking boots strongly recommended :-)  Barnes Station can easily be reached from Clapham Junction.  You should bring at least a liter of water to drink.

I will email my mobile number Friday morning to those that register.

£2.00 WISy group sub applies.

Hi really sorry I just got buried in computer things and still finishing a big DIY project! :( Really wanted to go to this and so sorry that I missed it. But I will try my best to get to one soon! Looks like good weather and that you all had a good time! :)

Really wanted to join you all but don't think i can honestly make the meet up time - i need to leave Reading - get home and then drive through traffic .. I don't want to be late and hold prop back - mite find you all later ..Enjoy the walk. :-)

I hope to make this but will verify nearer to the time. Bit worried about the length but I can park near Sheen and will therefor pull off before Richmond. However depending where Motspur Park is (there seems to be at least 3 in SW London) I could maybe give one person a lift. ( I pass through New Malden on my way home too! :)

I was the same Sue on my first walk I come from Staines, but I was so surprised at how safe I felt on the trains and also from the station walk home. when I had done it I was really pleased, Mike I have sadly got to miss this one owing to work

Thanks Mike. I'm actually in Motspur Park. I got stranded at Waterloo at 11pm last week when there was a signal failure. Doing something new on my own and worrying about getting home could be too much for me all in one go!

Sounds tempting. I think I may need to start with a day time one. I'm a bit worried about finding my way back to New Malden after sunset!

There are trains directly back to New Malden from Richmond every 30 mins til 23:29
