A day at the seaside in Littlehampton 7 miles

Meeting at 10-30am in the middle of the longest seat in the world which is on the seafront near the pleasure ground ( nearest postcode is about BN17 5NT ) . I will be wearing a (blue) bandana . Plenty of free parking in the centre of the town .

Passing the pleasure grounds we follow the river Arun to an unusual bridge and pass the yacht club to Climping beach .
Bring a picnic , or buy a cafe lunch .

Above picture - This is part of the longest seat in the world , it has a rather strange centre piece ( it's like a rollercoaster track at Alton Towers ) . That's where we will meet .

We will return ( hopefully ) by the new River Arun ferry £1 and can go to a cafe below a lighthouse style information centre with a great viewing gallery (extra).

£3 in the WiSy pot please

Sorry Helen , I had a very busy weekend organising a Caribbean Party ( in a thunderstorm ! ), leading the Dunsfold Air Display walk on Sunday and Littlehampton walk on Monday , so I missed seeing your lift request message .

Great idea to be beside the sea instead of the normal walk in the woods.

Thanks everyone for a pleasant day in the 'not so sunny' Littlehampton . It wasn't really Ice cream and sunbathing weather , but we made the most of it , taking in the River Arun and Climping beach before heading off straight to the pub ( best thing to do ) . We also got to try out the new ferry crossing which only started this year . Thanks to all those who risked the elements and came along , our next seaside trip will be hot and balmy .

I will email attendees my mobile number a few days before we go . The main seafront promanade at Littlehampton is not that long , so find the 'longest bench in the world' and head for the centre , I'll be there wearing my blue bandana .

The longest seat runs most of the way along the centre of the main seafront and has a rather strange centre piece ( it's like a rollercoaster track at Alton Towers ) . That's were we will be . I think it's fairly new .
Dogs - No problem with me , but not sure about the ferry policy and beach rules , so have a look at their website www.visitlittlehampton.co.uk .

Hi Gavin. Sounds like fun, but can you be a bit more precise as to where we must meet. I have no idea where this longest seat might be, and I used to work in Littlehampton.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
