Loosen up those legs after work with a speedy walk around the lake and past the orchards at Sunnyvale's Heritage Park.
We'll meet in front of the Senior Center because it's the easiest clearly-designatable place with nearby parking [and restrooms just inside!] Sights along the walk include the bluest [artificial] lake you ever saw, the museum in the replicated Martin Murphy Jr. home, the heritage orchard and the super-informative outdoor exhibit on the history of the fruit industry in the Santa Clara Valley.
The heritage museum closes at 4. If your schedule allows and you have nothing else in particular to do, head on over there a lot earlier in the afternoon. There are restaurants not too far away where you could grab an early supper and then walk it off.
Alternatively, arrive 30 minutes to an hour early and enjoy the outdoor display over by the Heritage Museum itself. It is an EXCELLENT description of life in this area not all that long ago.
Our walk will zoom past the museum and other sites, but will mainly be for us to get exercise, and we can't arrive before 6. But if you are able to go earlier and take in some of the sights at a slower pace, it's a nice place to see.
