Lights in the Rose Garden area turned out to be almost non-existent; hours of searching online for great light-seeing spots didn't turn up as much as it has in past years. Maybe it's the economy; maybe it's the approaching December 21st End-of-the-World date.
Thus we've planned a nice exercise walk past some pleasantly-decorated (probably not award-winning, but very pleasant) homes to 666 Lakefair Drive, one of the highlights listed on Lights of the Valley. Returning through just a bit of Lakewood Park, we'll end up with coffee, wine or tiramisu at Giovanni's Pizzeria, which is pleasantly decorated for Christmas and has plenty of space for us.
Several of the streets we'll walk on are well lit; others not so much, and sidewalks in some places are uneven. You MIGHT want to bring a flashlight, or someone to hold hands with.
The site for Giovannis is www.giovannisnypizza.com
If you're coming to the walk straight from work, stop in for supper, and then walk it off with us. We will gather just OUTSIDE Giovanni's at 7:00, returning there after the walk for drinks or dessert.
