When we started several years ago, our goal was to explore Silicon Valley (aka "The Valley of Heart's Delight"), in part to show people there was more to the Bay Area than San Francisco. Now we've visited just about every local museum from Gilroy to Santa Cruz to Millbrae, so we tend to journey farther afield for cultural/historical walks and day trips. Our events include mundane after-work "well, it's better than just sitting on the couch" walks in local neighborhoods as well as more ambitious hikes and day trips.
WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE (BEG) THAT MEMBERS:
1.Read EVERYTHING,(ie event descriptions), etc., CAREFULLY.It is important for YOUR safety and enjoyment of events that you know where to meet up, what to bring, whether the activity is appropriate for you, etc. While we do occasionally omit important information and appreciate your bringing that to our attention, organizers' time is better spent on preparing postings than responding to questions which are already covered. If we don't answer a question it probably means the answer is already there.
( Despite research, advance telephone calls and careful planning, we still can't guarantee that things will always turn out as expected. But then, most of life is pretty much like that, anyway. :) If after reading an event description, you have further questions--please feel free to research on your own to find those answers)

3. Organizers really appreciate occasional small contributions to cover Meetup fees, printing maps, etc. CARPOOL DRIVERS SHOULD ALWAYS RECEIVE DONATIONS FOR CAR COSTS AND BRIDGE TOLLS.
4. Please don't bring dogs to an event unless it's labeled dog-friendly. We love dogs, but some members are allergic, and Ron once got hurt trying not to trip on someone's dog, so we are not too enthusiastic about having them along with a group.
