bring a lunch or snack so we can picnic halfway through the float...
We are switching the float to the Snake River instead of Burbank Slough because of the temperature. The snake is still a nice slow float, but it should be a bit cooler. The current is very slow.
I'm expecting Kay, Juri, Martin, Katrina L., Don Mannion, and Reva meeting at the O'Reilly parking lot to carpool over at 7:45am. That's the corner of Williams and Jadwin just South of the Dairy Queen.
Launch time is still 9am, so be there about 8:30 to unpack and park your vehicle. Some of us may want to meet in Richland to carpool over to the launch site and we'll meet in the O'rielly's Auto Parts parking lot over near the corner of Williams and Jadwin at 7:45am. Williams is just up from the Uptown Shopping Center.
So far I'm picking up a kayak for Reva, Kay, and Juri on Friday night. I can handle a couple more single person kayaks. You will have to rent one for all day.
The plan is to launch at Hood Park on the Snake River at around 9am. So try to be at the Hood Park around 8:30 to unload and park.
Hood Park is just off hyw 12 at the road 124 exit near beautiful Burbank, WA (East of Pasco). It is also a shorter drive for the folks coming over from Walla Walla.
After exiting onto 124 take a left turn onto Hood Park Rd. Follow Hood Park Road to the parking lot and launch area. I do believe you will need a Discover Pass to enter the park.
For those of you that intend to rent a kayak at Columbia Kayak adventures tell them it is with "Ted's meetup group" and you should be able to get a discount. What I can do is if you make arrangements with them over the phone and pay for your kayak I can load it on my truck or trailer and haul it down for you on Saturday morning.
Here's hoping for great weather!!
