This is one of my regular spots. They used to be located in the Danville Hotel on Hartz Ave, but moved to a new location across the street from Trader Joe's. The new location is much larger and retains a lot of the indoor mixed with outdoor atmosphere the old location had. Even though it lost the patio that overlooked all the pedestrians walking up and down Hartz, I think they did a good job with the new place to retain the character.
NEW THIS EVENT: We will have a donation box for $1 per person showing up. The donation will fund name tags, flag stickers if I find them, and as a fund to secure future venues for BBQs, Pot Lucks, wine tasting etc.... This was a suggestion by a member to improve the cross socializing, and start adding different types of events. All good ideas deserve a chance :)
On the weekends they serve Beignets with raspberry sauce. Not quite Cafe Du Monde in new Orleans, but good. They also have a good breakfast menu.
They serve Blue Bottle coffee (based in Oakland), which is one of the gourmet brewed one cup at a time brands. If you stay for lunch, I think their hamburger is one of the best in the area.
The place is popular, but they have more space at the new location so I will expand the limit to 20, and we can test how that goes.
The new Location is approximately a block from the Iron Horse Trails for those of you interested in hiking/biking before or after.
The format for Coffee is the same. Come when you please and leave when you please, making this a good on the way spot if you are driving up or down 680 that day, or live close to Danville. For the rest of us, this is a great place to start our day. Hope to see you there.
