This group is for ladies in their mid 20s and mid 30s who live in the Walnut Creek area (PHill, Lamorinda, Claycord, Danville, etc). The goal of the group is to meet new friends, go out with the girls, and participate in a multitude of activities. Events like local happy hours, wine tastings, lounging by the pool, dog walking, hiking, potlucks, dinners, 5k events, movies, book club, bar trivia nights, are a regular occurrence…..hence the name Laid Back Ladies. We know that the idea of meeting new people in a group setting is scary, but we promise everyone is extremely sweet, nice, and open to meeting new people...and we often have plenty of new ladies to get to know! And occasionally, since we don't live in a bubble, we'll have an event open to husbands, boyfriends, friends, etc.
We do try to have at least 4 events per month, so hopefully you will find something that peaks your interest. We are always open to new ideas as well. FYI, to make this group run smoothly, we keep track of who attends and who no shows. We all know life happens and some things cannot be avoided, but being a serial “no show” or last min canceller may constitute removing you from the group. In addition, some events fill up fast, and if you no show, or cancel last min it means another lovely lady on the waitlist, isnt able to attend. We are all busy women and I hope this will make our group more organized and reliable.
Now that that has all been said, we look forward to you joining the group and meeting some great girls! Looking forward to meeting you!
Here's the run-down on 3 basic rules of our group.
1. If you RSVP to an event, you're expected to show up. We know, We know. It's just too easy to click the "Yes" RSVP button even if you have no clue about whether or not you'll really be able to make it, but here's the thing: When the day of the event rolls around, those of us who actually make the trip to the required venue will be standing there waiting around for you. We'll be wondering, "WHERE IS MARY-STU? Should we start the event without her? Is she lost? Should we wait another ten minutes?" Not only is it inconvenient, but it's rude to the organizers and other members who are waiting for the event to start.
2. We send out a reminder email 1-2 days before the event with important information such as addresses, phone numbers, and meeting spots. So be sure to check your spam for email reminders! If you RSVP to an event but your plans change, revise your RSVP to "Not Attending" at least 24 hours before the event so those on the waitlist have a chance to attend.3. We ask that all new members attend at least one event within the first 90 days. If you do not attend an event within 6 months, we may remove you from the group, but you are always welcome to join again (we try to keep only active members!)
