Friday Night Film & Fun: The Perks of Being a Wallflower

**Update 10/5**
I have removed the RSVP limit for the event. I generally prefer to limit attendance to a smaller group to make the post-movie chat a bit easier. But, since this is a Friday night I think we will mostly be socializing and we can easily break into smaller groups. Meeting in the lobby before the film may be a little chaotic with 20+ people, so thank you in advance for your cooperation! :D

In need of Friday night plans? Join us for a fun film group date as we check out The Perks of Being a Wallflower at The Embassy Cinema.

The movie starts at 6:50PM. Let’s meet in the lobby at 6:30PM SHARP so we have a little time to say hello. After the movie we can head over to The Skellig for a chat, a pint (or two!), and some live Irish music. Please order your drinks/snacks individually at the bar.

A funny and touching coming-of-age story based on the beloved best-selling novel by Stephen Chbosky, THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER is a modern classic that captures the dizzying highs and crushing lows of growing up. Starring Logan Lerman, Emma Watson and Ezra Miller, THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER is a moving tale of love, loss, fear and hope—and the unforgettable friends that help us through life.

The Embassy Cinema and The Skellig are both accessible.

It is easiest to park directly behind The Embassy; the lot is accessible via Pine Street. There is also plenty of on-street parking, as well as other metered lots off of Moody Street. Meters are usually free after 6:00PM.

This quirky and touching coming of age film was very reminiscent of John Hughes' The Breakfast Club. It definitely has more layers than initially meets the eye -- the last 15 minutes are powerful! Our post-film chat was a great time, and I especially loved Cheryl's fun napkin activity. :)

This was a much deeper film than I expected.

According to the Embassy Cinema's website, they are not showing TPOBAW. It is showing in Kendall Square however. See:
