This group has been created for independent film fans in the Waltham and Newton areas. There are a lot of great movie Meetups, but why schlep all over the city when we’ve got two hidden gems right in our backyards? :) Waltham’s Embassy Cinema features a mix of independent film, foreign language cinema and Hollywood favorites. The theater is located at 16 Pine Street in Waltham, just off of Moody Street. Parking is a breeze with a metered lot just steps from the front door, and the theater is also convenient to public transportation. The West Newton Cinema plays a wide variety of films new and old, high and low budget. The theater is located at 1296 Washington Street in West Newton. There are metered spots along Washington Street, some non-metered spots behind the theater, and a few small lots close by. Please note that the West Newton Cinema is CASH only. After our movies we can walk to one of many local cafés where we can relax, discuss, and enjoy a beverage.

So long as the selections look good, my goal is to host events approximately every two weeks. If you would like to organize and host a Meetup at Embassy or West Newton, please feel free! However, I will ask regular organizers to kindly share the cost of the Organizer Dues.
