Four Mile Hike on the North Country Trail at Cemex - Beaver River to Snake Run

CEMEX Property - Bevington Boat Launch on River Rd. to Snake Run Road West trailhead 4 miles round trip.  Start this walk beside the beautiful Beaver River and work your way up a gradual ascent to the abandoned mining operations of the former Medusa Cement Company. A walk that goes primarily through the woods, but also includes some field walks with a great opportunity to catch some panoramic views of the countryside.

We'll meet at the Bevington Boat Launch on River Rd., opposite the town of Wampum. Dress for the weather, bring drinking water, and a snack for a break along the way if you’d like.

Me, plus maybe Sarah if I can convince her...she's leaving for the Appalachian Trail in a few weeks so she needs more hiking practice. LOL

Coming from the south on Rt 18 you'll take a right onto Main St. (by the CEMEX plant) into Wampum and then cross over the big bridge (only bridge in Wampum) across the Beaver River. Once you are across, River Rd. is on the left side - turn left there. Follow River Rd. about a half a mile and you'll see the Bevington Boat Launch on the left hand side. If you are coming from Ellwood City towards Wampum, River Rd. would be on the right at the bottom of the hill by the river, before you cross the bridge into Wampum.
