Trekfast (Hike and Breakfast) Holbert Trail - South Mountain

Description: People have walked this area for hundreds of years. The Holbert Trail gives you a healthy climb and a little history with it. As you traverse the north side of the preserve, graffiti and broken glass take away from the natural beauty. But press on: The trail becomes clean and offers striking views. At the start of the trail, you quickly come to some fire pits. Cut directly through them. Less than a half-mile into the hike, you are looking at rock art created centuries ago. Starting at trail marker No. 6, there are petroglyphs on boulders. On your right is the Phoenix skyline. The climb offers a healthy workout to Dobbin's Lookout, or you can continue to other trail connections.
Then head over to THE FARM for a brunch. If you just want to do the hike you can drive down in your car and leave us at that point.

    Hi Soles,

Renee called me today to let me know she has an owie that has not healed and asked me to lead the hike. We will meet as planned at the dirt parking lot of Aunt Chilada's just west of I10 on Baseline at 7:00 am and carpool to the trailhead. Later we will enjoy a late breakfast/early lunch at the farm at South Mountain on 32nd street. Anyone that wants to join but skip breakfast can just meet at the trailhead (central avenue entrance to the park and the trailhead is one of the first on the left. Let me know if you are not meeting at Aunt Chiladas. It should be fun, I usually don't get too lost on my hikes and most of the time return with everyone in tact :) See you Sunday morning. [masked] if you need to call that morning. Mark

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
