Very sad the weather is canceling this hike. Hopefully it can be rescheduled.

I"m sorry, but Jeff, take care of that cold. If it doesn't pour tomorrow, I'll head for San Tan Regional Park in the morning. You all are welcome. The Goldmine trail is nice there, although it won't be fun if it's too wet. May take my dogs. Then I'm thinking wine at Kokopeli in Chandler.

I think this finishes me for tomorrow. I definitely want to do this hike though, so I'll be checking for the re-schedule.

Sorry, we have to cancel the hike. The hazardous weather forecast has not improved. The washes on the south access road will probably be flooded and too dangerous to cross. I also have a cold now. We will try to reschedule this hike for another time. If anyone has an alternate and accessible hike idea they want to throw out for tomorrow, feel free to do so.

I like the way you are thinking! Plan "B" or we are going to be bummed. :-)

You can't really pray for it to *not* rain in AZ. Is there another hike we can do that doesn't involve washes and impassable roads? I'll go look at the White Tanks map...

Wow, up to 1 1/4 inches of rain in 24hrs is now forecasted. That could certainly flash flood washes. The weather is going in the wrong direction. In hopes the forecast will still change, we will make the final call tomorrow 5pm. This hike may have to be rescheduled.

Jeff, if we have to cancel the Superstition hike this Sat because of the weather, please offer it next Sat Feb 2. It looks like people that wanted to go for this one are not attending Family Geocaching hike. Just a thought…

At the moment the weather forecast does not look good. See the weather link on the description. If it rains as much as the forecast says it might, the roads will be impassable to the JF trailhead. However, weather is hard to predict and the hike is not for 3 days. There is a good chance the forecasts will look more favorable as the hike gets closer.

Jim, thanks for offering to drive. We will still need another volunteer to drive to the Tortilla trailhead. This route is passenger car friendly.

Hi thru hikers, this should be a fun hike. The plan is to slit into 2 groups and start on opposite ends. Duane will be leading team north starting at the JF trailhead. I will be leading team south starting at the Tortilla trailhead. We will pass about half way and when finished we will drive each other’s vehicles out. The southbound hike will be a little more strenuous because of the greater elevation gain.

I have a 4 wheel drive and able to drive on Saturday.

Does anyone else have a high clearance vehicle and would be willing to drive? If so, the number of attendees can be increased. Thanks.

Jeff, can you, please add me to the waiting list? I can also be squeezed in the vehicle -I don't take much space.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
