(My spell checker is fed up with me.)
On Sunday, Nov 7, we’ll revisit the Gettysburg Battlefield with an afternoon hike and more. (For those who missed our first hike last May, or forgot about it, here see http://picasaweb.google.com/Michael.Darzi/GettysburgBattlefield#slideshow/.) This very different follow-up will focus on the northern part of the battle (days 1 and 3), and will also feature the historical commentary of Jackie Gluck. The hike (8.5mi; an easy 2 blisters) is all on hard surface trails and road, including a tour of some historic parts of the town. We’ll meet at a Metro station and leave DC area at 10:30.
Following the hike, we’ll have a ghoulish walk in town with our guest ghost guide, Amanda Beck. Be very scared!
For those interested, we will also have dinner (ghoulash?) at ye historic Dobbin House Tavern (http://www.dobbinhouse.com/). You must reserve with me (not Meetup!!!) and there is a $10 deposit/person. There is limited seating, so RSVP ASAP!
If you would like to go, please send me an email to obtain location meeting info, updates, and to reserve for dinner.
Just for fun, some nice pictures from last Saturday’s hike on Halfmoon Mountain: http://picasaweb.google.com/Michael.Darzi/HalfmoonMountain02#slideshow
