Wow! Has it been another year already? And just in time for some New Gear, Helmet or maybe even a New Bike?!?!?

http://www.motorcycleshows.com/san-mateo

The East Bay group will meet at the Starbucks on Concord Ave by the Airport and ride down to San Mateo Via the San Mateo Bridge. Along the way we can swing by the Starbucks in Hayward/San Lorenzo to meetup w/ the rest of the group.

Meetup at 9am, Safety Talk, 9:30am (if you miss the talk YOU ride alone) KSU 9:45.

Meet the group at Starbucks in San Lorenzo about 10:30, another Safety Talk, and KSU @ 10:50. Arrive at the San Mateo County Fairgrounds about 11:30.

The people meeting at the San Lorenzo Starbucks should probably meet at 10am to have coffee and hang out until group 1 gets there.

The ROUTE

There will be no "Scheduled" time to leave. Just stay as long as you like or have the $$ to do so and leave when you want with whoever you want ;-)

Is this Ted's Bike? and getting the Babes?

I was very disappointed with this years event. I went to purchase several things and they did not have them on hand. Not one vendor had merchandise on hand only reps. Had money to send and not one vendor wanted it I guess. The only good this was the weather held so I could test drive several motors

According to the news we are seeing the back side of the system that came through last night. The next system should hit the coast and start coming through about 5pm. I'm actually seeing some patches of blue sky at my house right now in Concord, it's 7:15. It's cool but not cold. I'm riding!!

Is the ride on no matter how much rain is coming down?

    November 16, 2012

    • Mike T.

No. Although most of you know that I will ride in almost any weather it would be stupid to ride over there if it's poring because you have no place protected when you get there. Change your clothes and get back in them in the rain? Not me! I'll update at 8am as thats the time I need to get ready for the 9am meetup.

It's right on the home page from the above link to the show. You just have to scroll down.

Yes Tom I did find it. The problem is they want ME to pay for it and then distribute the tickets. I did this once before and was left holding 4 or 5 tickets. But I posted at the top a site that Betsy found where there FREE! or $7.00 I can't figure it out.

I would be willing to go in on a group ticket deal. Especially if you need one more to make up the numbers. Though I am kind of interested in getting the T-shirt & ticket deal. Are the T-shirts usually any good?

Jeff - I'm in San Rafael and would welcome the chance to connect in San Rafael - we could also meet in Mill Valley and there. I know my friend Sam would meet up with us there/then.

Any NorthBay (Marin) riders going? It doesn't make sense to ride over to Concord/San leandro if we don't need to. How 'bout meeting at Starbucks in Novato or San Rafael?

To hopefully clear up any confusion; As I'm sure there will be MANY meetups to go to this event. But This group will meet at the Starbucks in Concord, do a Safety Talk, ride down to the Starbucks in San Lorenzo, do another safety talk, ride across the San Mateo Bridge to the Event.

Hey, I'm new to the group and new to the area. Kinda new to riding the highways and high traffic areas, though I did just ride here from Tucson less than two weeks ago (by way of San Diego then riding up the coast). Tucson is all surface streets in an almost perfect grid, so traffic is pretty predictable compared to around here. But I have ridden a bicycle in LA traffic so I know how to keep my eyes open.

What time do I need to be at the second Starbucks (15600 Hesperian Blvd, San Lorenzo, CA 94580) to meet up with the group? Will there be a safety lecture there too? Considering that I have never ridden with a large group (except on a bicycle) I definitely NEED to hear that lecture. So, if there is no lecture at the second Starbucks, should I backtrack and meet you at the first Starbucks, just to get the lecture. I live near where 13 meets 580, so halfway between the first and second Starbucks.
