Afternoon Learners SIG Agenda for 10/17/13
We will continue to have a divided room as before and iPad will be in one half and some old familiar stuff (call it OSX stuff) in the other. For the time being we will continue having dual meetings. Be reminded that we have a Mobile Devices SIG that meets after each general meeting at GMU. All issues regarding iPads, iPhones, and iPods are welcome.
Separate from many members asking for more on the iPad, many members have been asking for other topics (perhaps they could be identified as OSX topics). It is hard to come up with an agenda of OSX topics when our interests are so diverse. Maybe we can have a different meeting, call it a Pi Roundtable.
Listed below are some topics that are of interest to at least 2 or more members. How about we have a round table discussion where everyone has a chance to ask about a topic of interest to them (which may or may not be on the list) with the others contributing what they know about the topic and then we move on to the next person and that person's topic of interest. We could have the entire meeting about one topic or more than one topic. For instance, last month, someone asked about Dropbox and several other members were also interested in Dropbox and we spent almost the entire time on Dropbox. We also saw a brief demonstration of how we can remotely control another computer.
The TV monitor will be set up on the side for the IOS stuff and the projector and movie screen will be set up for OSX side.
Expressed Topics of Interest:
We plan to be in rooms 33 & 34.
Afternoon Learners are members of Washington Apple Pi who use this time and place to increase computer skill by sharing presentations of what they've found to make the Mac or mobile Apple device their favorite operating system. Agendas will be added closer to the meetup.
Visitors and newcomers are welcome. Bring a friend!
About the SIG
The Afternoon Learners SIG welcomes anyone who has time available during the day. For that reason, our meetings take place from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM on the third Thursday of each month. There are occasions when meetings have to be shifted so please be sure to check the Pi calendar for the latest information. We try to help our members get more enjoyment out of their Macintosh computers by providing simple tutorials, help with operational issues and fellowship.
