Free daily meditation sessions at the Washington Buddhist Vihara, one of the first Theravadan Buddhist temples that was established in the United States. We teach meditation from the Theravadan tradition, recognized by scholars as the most ancient Buddhist tradition and the first to transcribe the words of the Buddha. Whether you are Buddhist or not, you can learn to practice meditation to find peace and happiness within yourself. We are a diverse community of dhamma(dharma) practitioners with backgrounds in various traditions and cultures. Monks and lay teachers are available for questions, and provide guided meditation sessions on Sundays at 3 pm, followed by a question and answer period.
