Oh Canada!

To kick start the meetup, which has been on hiatus for several months, we will meet to discuss "Rebel Angels" by Robertson Davies. It has the advantages of being a relatively shorter novel, it's not a classical European work (our concentration to date), and it packs a lot into a small format. Have your history of literature, resources on opera, gyspy folklore, Jungian psychology, and university politics all close at hand - it reads in a manner easy on the eyes, but is filled with cultural allusions. Easily found also: The place for the meetup will be announced very soon (1) central to DC, VA and MD members and (2) with access to parking and metro. (If the majority really enjoy the novel, which can be read to stand alone, there are 2 more works that follow to form a trilogy). Bill, leader pro-tem

A great, lively discussion, even though not a fave book of mine. Well done, Bill!

Wonderful to be back! Great to see newcomers as well as veterans of the Meetup. The discussion was lively, even highly charged at times...but always enriching and enjoyable. Thanks Bill!
