A new historical-biographical novel, Born for Freedom, by Lina Zilionyte follows the life of Lucy Ankute and the country of Lithuania from the early 1960s until Glasnost. Little six year-old Lucy knows her country is not free. Born in 1956 (shortly after the last freedom fighter was killed), Lucy is inculcated with a commitment to a free Lithuania by her parents and grandparents. We follow Lucy as she fights for this ideal and chases an elusive dream.
