Volunteer work with Food For All DC!!

Since people had a blast helping out with Food For All DC at the Dedicated Day of Service event way back in September, I figure why not come back and start the year with some charitable work.

We would first come in at 9 AM where we prepare and pack boxes of groceries(The packing usually takes about 45 mins to 1 hr). Afterwards we are given assigned routes and go around the city to deliver the food to the clients. These routes normally contain between 6-8 deliveries and take about 1-2 hours.

For this event, we would need 15-20 volunteers. One thing to note is that volunteers will need to bring their own cars and/or be able to drive; so if you can able to loan your car to the cause, it'll be greatly appreciated. If you can't drive, you can also sign up as a navigator and help drivers on the deliveries.

As always, I'll create a spreadsheet in a few so people can write down if they want to be drivers or navigators. Also if you need to reach me on the day of the event, my phone number is (240) 400-4172.

See you all there!

And as promised in record fashion, here's the Google Spreadsheet: Spreadsheet

Thanks for all that came out today and it was nice meeting all of you. For those who couldn't make, don't fret because I definitely plan on doing more of these when the weather gets warmer!!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
