National Mall Scavenger Hunt!

It's time for a scavenger hunt that encompasses the National Mall and its surrounding museums. The event is simple; the participants will be divided into several teams (based on attendance) who will then have two and a half hours to solve a list of riddles and challenges provided by yours truly. Each answer will need to have a cellphone photograph that includes at least one team member sent via text to the hunt master for approval. At the end of the two and a half hours, the team with the most correct answers wins.

While the hunt only takes place within the National Mall boundaries (no major memorials are included), it does involve some walking. The hunt includes the interiors of the museums as well. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

Do you know D.C? Are you an evil mastermind who is up for a challenge? Sign up and find out!

Winners receive gold medals declaring their superiority.

P.S - We will grab drinks and/or food after the event for some fun socializing!

My contact number is (301) 758-1144. Do not hesitate to ask me questions.

We will meet up inside the Smithsonian Castle (that giant red brick building that looks like a castle). There is a diorama of Washington D.C right in the center of the building that we can congregate around.

The closest Metro Stop is Smithsonian/National Mall, however Chinatown/Gallery Place and Metro Center put you within reasonable walking distance.

The event takes place rain or shine since most of the hunt is indoors. If the forecast looks dicey, bring an umbrella. D.C is known for its quick storms, so even a high percent chance of a T-Storm isn't too bad.

Awesome. I've been through all of the museums more times than I care to count and this put a great spin on it.

Incredibly fun, socially driven, and very well organized. There were occasional and unavoidable technological hiccups, but the organizer created a variety of topics beforehand that kept nearly everyone interested and challenged throughout. Good job!

Absolutely awesome folks turned up. Super hunters and brilliant masterminds bested some of my toughest challenges. I look forward to hanging out with them all in the future and I hope they had a blast too!

When you arrive, I will be wearing a dark brown Guinness T-Shirt and will be standing near the diorama in the Smithsonian Castle holding a hastily assembled "National Mall Scavenger Hunt" sign. You can also look for the crowd of people. If you're running late, don't worry. It will take a little bit to assemble the teams, clarify the rules, and then start the hunt. I will start team assembly at 2 p.m, but don't expect to begin until 2:15 p.m at the earliest.

Finally, remember that there are some Metro delays (mentioned in the previous comment), so be sure to account for them.

    Good Morning Everybody!

The weather for the day *knocks on wood* looks good. There is an overall 30% chance of isolated thunderstorms with a 10% chance of precipitation from 2 p.m until 5 p.m. After that, it's back to 30% (just like every single day in Washington D.C). The high today will be 87 degrees with a bit of humidity, so bring water if you need it (there are also plenty of water fountains in the museums).

A heads up for those taking Metro to the scavenger hunt. Metro is doing track work (again) on the Red Line. The Medical Center and Bethesda stations are closed down and shuttle buses are running between them and Friendship Heights. Please allow an additional 30 minutes to get past the delays.

In addition, trains will share a single track on sections of the orange, blue and green lines, causing delays. Orange line trains will share a single track between Foggy Bottom and Clarendon and between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly. Blue line trains will single track between Foggy Bottom and Arlington Cemetery. Green line trains will also share a single track between Fort Totten and Prince George's Plaza.

Remember, Metro is awesome, which is why it keeps raising its fares.

    Howdy everybody,

If you can, please bring a pen/pencil. I will have some to give out, but having your own would help save supplies. I look forward to seeing everybody Saturday at 2 p.m!

I hope you're ready for some challenges, riddles, and hunting!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
