Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I

Meetup Idea:
Attend the final summer show at Wolf Trap, Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I. Lawn tickets for Sunday the 2nd at the 2pm showing are just 20 bucks. With alittle organization a pot luck picnic can be packed and shared. Yes, food and wine is allowed. What? You've never tailgate at a Shakespeare production before?

The forecast is calling for rain and the radar shows a big nasty green blob rolling on towards us. The performance goes on rain or shine and lawn tickets can't move under cover without paying a seating cost difference.

Be sure to bring an umbrella and whatever else you may need to stay dry.

I suppose it may be a little late to jump in? I was planning to eat beforehand, if I go at all, to avoid being a weight on others. May be a little too late now though >_>

    I just bought my ticket.

I can offer rides for up to three people. My home is near the Medical Center metro stop (about a 7 minute walk from the station). For those catching a ride with me, text me at (301)[masked] and I can give you my address. I figure we can aim to meet at my house at 12:15, which which should give us plenty of times to account for delays and food set up time pre-performance.

I have a car - and can fit 4 additional people in it - should we rendezvous at a metro and follow each other in? That way we can find each other and share in all of the scrumptious food! I will happily bring utensils, plates, cups, wine, cheese and soda. I may be able to smuggle some mac and cheese....

I am planning on bring about 10 lbs of pulled smoked chicken, rolls, coleslaw, and some potato salad to share. If you'd like to bring food to share please state it below. Also, paper plates, drinks, utensils, and cups would be grand.

If I can hitch a ride, I'd love to try and come out and see you guys again... but it's just a BIT too early for me to tell how busy I will be at that time.. so I will check back in when I know :) Thanks for the organizing Thomas, sounds interesting!

I have an SUV and can hold 4 others. I'm certain other have vehicles as well. I recommend rendezvous at a metro stop or a Big box retailers and traveling in as few vehicles as possible. I heard many reports that traffic is bad coming out of an event there.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
