It's that time again hunters! It's scavenger hunt time! Did you not place as well as you would have liked in the last hunt? Did the clues leave you puzzled, perplexed, and frustrated? Did you feel emasculated? Well, now is your chance to redeem yourself and your team!
The hunt will operate similarly to the National Mall Hunt. Attendees will be broken up into multiple teams who will then have two hours to solve as many riddles, clues, and quirky challenges as possible. Each answer will need to have a cellphone photograph that includes at least one team member sent via text to the hunt master for approval. At the end of the two hours, the team with the most correct answers wins.
The hunt will take place within the boundaries of the National Zoo and will require a bit of walking. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothing.
Do you know the National Zoo? Are you an evil zoologist looking for a challenge? Sign up and find out!
Winners receive the undying admiration of their fellow plebeians and an unnamed but awesome prize declaring your superiority.
P.S - We will grab drinks and/or food after the event for some fun socializing!
=== MEETUP INFORMATION ===
My contact number is [masked]. Do not hesitate to ask me questions.
We will meet just inside of the zoo on the Connecticut Avenue entrance (the main entrance) of the zoo. I will be awkwardly holding a sign for the meetup. I am not a panhandler, but you are welcome to throw money at my feet.
The zoo is free.
The closest metro stop is Woodley Park/National Zoo on the Red Line. It's about a two block walk up Connecticut from the metro exit. I highly recommend taking the metro because parking at the zoo is ridiculously expensive and street parking is hard (but not impossible) to find. Plus, D.C loves to ticket/tow cars.
I am working on creating a scavenger hunt and was wondering if someone here would give me little more detail about what this hunt entailed?

This was really fun. It could have been a teeny bit better organized (send in your answers for confirmation vs. self report totals) and there could have been more questions so it would have been more difficult to finish.
October 2
Fun! Not as hard as the Washington Post Hunt, but I think that was a good thing, haha.

Thank you all for coming! It was a great turnout and I look forward to puzzling, riddling, and confounding you all again in the future :)

Awesomely fun, and a fair bit more challenging than the National Mall museum scavenger hunt back on August 11th. Bladen's ability at writing enticing, varied hunt questions, in addition to his organizational skills, kept many of us on our feet (figuratively and literally) for the entire event. Well done!

This was awesome! Me and my friend had so much fun. I would definitely do this again

Is anyone here ?

If you're interested in joining up for food and drinks after the hunt, please respond to this comment with a clever joke and an indication of how many people you'll be bringing. That way, I can give a food establishment a heads up before hand.
(The joke is optional, but welcome!)

Good morning everybody and happy hunt day!
This is just a friendly reminder that the stations at Medical Center and Bethesda are closed down on the Metro's Red Line. Shuttles will be running between Grosvenor and Friendship Heights. If you're going through those stations, please allow an additional 30 minutes of travel time to get to the zoo.
Team assignments will begin promptly at 2 p.m and clue distribution shortly afterwards. Please, be on time!
September 22
Hi,
I am new to this meetup. Hopefully it won't be that awkard.
September 20
Last time I checked here, there were about 50 people attending. Looks like it's gonna be a very impressive turnout for tomorrow!
September 21
Greetings Hunters!
For tomorrow's hunt, please 1) Bring a pen/pencil (I will only have a couple on hand to give out) and 2) Please be on time.
I will begin assigning teams at 2 p.m and the hunt will begin shortly afterwards. The weather tomorrow should be sunny during the hunt, with the potential for thunderstorms in the evening. I want to make sure we start on time to avoid any weather related complications.
September 21
Krish, Bladen won't let things get too out of hand, and the DC Metro group are a bunch of great people.
September 20
As a heads up to those taking the Red Line to the National Zoo on Saturday, Medical Center and Bethesda stations will be closed and shuttle service will be between Grosvenor and Friendship Heights. Please allow an additional 30 minutes of travel time if you are going through those stations.
