Every good photographer needs a good headshot. How about we work on our portraiture skills and walk away with a good headshot for our own websites and marketing...

Betty, the "You" you refer to in you comment is no one. Originally, Diana set up this group, then she stepped down, and now Paolo is managing this group. This particular meetup is a remnant that we don't know how to delete, so hopefully it will expire by Saturday. Again, if you are interested in doing a headshot workshop, I will talk to some photographers I know and try to set one up. Let's keep it positive!

What's up with this group? I have been wanting to attend this workshop for several months and you keep changing your mind the day before the event. Not cool! Please remember that we are all very busy people too and when you do this it screws up everybody's calendar.
This event is NOT actually happening. If there are people interested in this, send me an email through meetup and if there is enough interest, I will try to get a photographer with experience to host it.
Is this event actually happening?

Starting to wonder if this is ever going to happen. Postponed twice. Maybe third time is the charm...

I am new to this group. Is there a way to find out what equipment to bring and who is the contact arranging it or a post made of a list? Also, is there a fee for the meetup at Art Space?

Diana has not answered, I think she has abandoned this group. So unless someone can "lead" this meetup, we should cancel it. (I don't know enough about headshots to lead it)

I appreciate the time change to a Sunday. It will make it easier for me others to make it there on time if we're coming from DC.

I tentatively changed the date to some time in the future until we get the discussions going. Until we hear from Diana, I will try to take the lead on arranging this meetup!

... I can put a "casting call" on modelmayhem to get models and makeup artists to attend as well
If we want to use Herndon Artspace, who can bring lights and other props?
Herndon ArtSpace is NOT available today, so the meeting will have to be rescheduled.I emailed Diana a week ago and have not heard from her (perhaps she's out of town), she is the one who originally scheduled this meetup.Let's plan the re-scheduling with a discussion...1. Do we want to get a photo studio? Is the one at Dulles available (does anyone know?)2. Do we want to get models and makeup artists to come, also? If so, let's arrange the place and time, and ... (more in next post)
Is there anyone in an official capacity who can definitively say whether this Meetup is on or off? I have a 40-50 min drive to Herndon tomorrow and I'd hate it to be for not.

Yeah - and unfortunately, there is just no way I can get out to Herndon from DC by 7:00pm.
This issue us the event was created by someone over three months ago. Last week someone else suggest a date and time and a third person suggested the location. There doesn't appear to be any one person who's actually organizing this event. From what I can tell there is reasonable doubt that anyone has even made an effort to see if the suggested location is even available for use.
There are 19 people g saying they are going. I am definitely going. What's the issue?
ummm...I really would like to go, but one days notice before the event date is not enough. I cannot make it tomorrow and really wish it could be changed.
I need a head shot for my website so YES i am planning on attending.
I plan to attend.
received the email and yes, I am planning on attending
I get the feeling that nobody is really in charge of this event.
Is anyone really going to this? If so, we have to make sure Herndon Artspace IS available on Thursday. If you are going, please respond with a comment, otherwise we should schedule something for later.
Sorry - I have another engagement that night. I look forward to the next get together!

Is there a date for this event yet?

Weekends early afternoons work the best. How about sometime in March. Good way to bring in the spring!

It said "suggest a location" (I didn't mean to force it to be Herndon Artspace!)

Weekend works best for me.
Weekend or evening works best for me.
weekend or evening would work for me. Are we looking at a studio session, or something on-location? I am excited either way!
What would work best for everyone... evening, weekend or weekday?
Depending on when it is, I'll def try to come out

I would be interested in this too.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
