Would you like to join the Filipino Young Professionals(FYP)-DC Dragon Boat team on May 18th and 19th at the 2013 DC Dragon Boat Festival at Thompson Boat center in Georgetown? The cost will be TBD (planning stages atm) per person and that includes 3 practices leading up to the Festival weekend. Here is a link to the festival website: http://www.dragonboatdc.com
Also, if you don't plan on paddling still come out and enjoy the festival and support your Pinoy teams. It's a great time. Thanks!!
The festival will be held near Thomspon Boat Center, 2900 Virginia Ave, NW, Washington, DC 20037.
Parking: There is a decent amount of parking on K Street along the Georgetown Waterside, directly below the Whitehurst Freeway. This is metered parking. There are also parking garages for use too. The closest paid lots are in the Watergate Complex, Washington Harbour, and at the Kennedy Center.
Hope to see you all there!!
The Lapu Lapu Warriors and The Rizal Revolutionaries hit the water to compete in the 2013 Dragon Boat Festival !?!? Well if you don't know...now you know!!!
Come cheer on the teams and enjoy some games and Filipino Food at FYP's first ever Dragon Boat Tailgate!!! It's all free for paid FYP members and $5 for nonmembers. To become a paid member visit our new website at http://www.fypdc.org/
Also for those who haven't ordered, there are just a few Lapu Lapu shirts left. Don't miss out. Send an email to [masked] to reserve yours today. $15 each while supplies last. You can pick up your shirt on race day.
See the Filipino flag on the map below to see where we'll meet. On the day of the race keep your eyes out for the FYP Banner and the huge group of Filipino people.
* please note there is limited parking near the race site. Most people either park in Georgetown and then walk to the waterfront
This group is intended for Filipino-American living in the DC metro area to meet, greet, share life stories and their experiences, and ultimately, have FUN!!. This is a chance for us to start new friendships, enjoy some happy hours, karaoke, watch Pacquiao fight, enjoy activities such as lunches/dinners, get away, sporting events, movies, shows, food festivals, potlucks, etc., etc...... all Filipinos, young and old are encouraged to join this group.
I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
