Multi-Asian Group Toy Drive at Roc Bar

  • December 6, 2012 · 6:30 PM

Mix and mingle with fellow Asian professionals at Roc Bar and Support our 5th Annual Toy Drive with doors opening at 6pm. NAAAP-DC is proud to hold our annual cooperative event helping to collect toys for those who are less fortunate.

With less than 2 months away til Christmas, several of the Asian Pacific American groups are working together to collect toys for those children who are in need. We are collecting toys for DC Mayor's Office of Asian Pacific Islander Affairs and their "SHARE A SMILE, GIVE A T
OY" campaign.

Over 300 Asian American children from under privileged families in the DC area will not be getting holiday gifts for Christmas. So, the Multi-APA collective of DC APA organizations and NAAAP-DC are working to collect the largest number of toys to this cause. On December 6th, The Mayor's Office of Asian Pacific Islander Affairs will be distributing those collected toys to those families.

Please bring an unwrapped toy and take in the fun and networking spirit of the holidays. (If you don’t bring a toy, we ask for a minimum 10 dollar donation). There will be raffles, drink specials, and fun!! This will be one of the largest APA networking events. Every year it gets bigger.

Currently we have the following collaborative organizations:
- Taiwanese American Professionals of DC (TAP-DC)
- Kollaboration DC
- Asian American Professionals of DC/MD/VA
- DC Asian Pacific American Film (DC APA Film)
- Sejong Society
- UNA-USA Young Professionals for International Cooperation
- Asian American Leadership Empowerment And Development (AALEAD)
- Korean Focus Metro DC
- Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership (CAPAL)
- Korean American Scholarship Foundation (KASF)

...and more organizations to come. If you and your organization want to participate, please contact Christian Oh. Please spread the word and take time out of your schedule to help support this wonderful cause.
