This is a new ride! We will meet at the home of one of our members in Croom, MD and ride on paved roads to the Patuxent River Park and then on packed pea gravel into the Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary where we will ride the 4.3 mile Chesapeake Bay Critical Area Driving Tour. Merkle is a 2,000 acre preserve of marshes, farm fields, and woods on the Patuxent River and we will pass through the once-prosperous city of Nottingham, a late colonial era town. Hybrid bikes are recommended but not necessary.
Full lunch will be provided by WWO Member following the ride.
Level: 22.0 miles. Flat trails suitable for in-shape novices and above. Mountain bikes or hybrids are recommended.
$7 members, $10 non-members
