Let Our Powers Combine to Form Captain Meetup! Greetings to all members. As I hope everyone knows, I organize this group and I guess what could be called a sibling group, The Greater Washington DC RPG Meetup group. The monthly RPGala's serve as shared monthly meetings for both groups. In fact, the majority (all?) of the active members of this group are also members in the DC RPG group. At this point in time the two groups are largely redundant in purpose, goals, events, and membership. They have, in fact, become basically the same group except one says its primarily for D&D while the other is primarily for RPGs in general.

I have been thinking about this a lot and rather than saying "D&D players over here, Cthulhu players over there, Rifts players here, NoVa here, Maryland there" it would be better to make the groups one in reality. They already are in practicality and it will save me from sending out double of every message, announcement, advertisement, RSVP list, etc. Plus those who are in both groups will be quite happy to stop receiving two copies of everything I send out. I also plan to start advertising for members and advertising for 2 groups is just not practical.

So, in the spirit of the stupid kids with dumb captain planet rings we will combine our powers into one group. As of March 1, 2008 the NoVa Dungeons and Dragons Meetup Group will become one with the Greater Washington DC RPG Meetup Group.

What do you need to do? Well, 1st thing is if you are not already a member of the DC group, go to the group ASAP and become a member. Click here to become a member. Then remove yourself from the NoVa D&D group. If you are not currently active in the group or have no desire to be active, best of luck on all your future endeavors.

PS-For all the slackers (hey, I'm one too) I will still put up the list of games for the February RPGala and you will still be able to RSVP for it on this (NoVa D&D) site. But come March 1st, its gone.
If anyone is confused, concerned, or looking for Mythos tomes, please contact me.

Steve
