Night run in Watchung

Sorry for the late notice.

Bret and I are doing a late night run through Watchung tonight. We will start with the Sierra Loop (roughly 10.5 miles). If things go well, we are planning on adding in a Pink Loop (6.0 miles).

You can't park in the reservation after dark so we will park in a neighborhood just off the trailhead. Use these GPS coordinates to find us.

52-60 Southview Drive, Berkeley Heights, NJ 07922, USA
Latitude : [masked] | Longitude : [masked]

Make sure you bring some light (a headlamp or handheld). Email me if you have any questions.

I was really tempted to run with you guys last week
but still not 100% yet. I definitely would like to run the Sierra Trail in the daytime before trying it in the dark though. I will be running the pink loop tomorrow at 2pm if anyone is around to join me :)

It was a tough night out. I would say that the first 12 miles were fun. The last 5 not so much. I will definitely set-up a daytime Sierra trail run. It is a nice loop

That would be cool. When is the next run? I'm thinking of going today.

17 miles in the dark. Ouch.

Yeah. Same here. Really sore and getting a bit concerned about my Bear Mtn 50k in two weeks. Can't imagine what the back half of the race is going to feel like (or the day after.)

I think you'll be alright. Go into it rested and ready and the first 20 miles should go by quick. Don't worry about the day after. You'll have plenty of time to think about that pain after its done and dusted.
