This is going to be a very fun event and family oriented so bring the kids too. Although our focus will be Hobie Island sailing, all WaterTribers and other kayakers and small boat sailors are welcome.
Once again we have Ian Lineburger coming out to give us some really good sailing instruction. Those of you who were at our June Meetup last year will remember how valuable his tips can be. We will also have a lot of fun racing each other in a short loop while trying to remember everything we learned.
I will add more detail later, but I want to give as much notice as possible so you can have a chance to reserve a camping spot at Fort De Soto Park. Here is a link to the camping reservation page: http://www.pinellascounty.org/park/camping.htm
Some of us will use the free primitive camping spot on Shell Key. See this link: http://www.pinellascounty.org/park/camping.htm#shellkey
Remember that camping overnight is optional. Sunday will be a very layed back day with a trip to Egmont Key for snorkeling or whatever.
Fort De Soto campground is very popular so make your reservations as early as possible. If they fill up you will be able to primitive camp on Shell Key or there are many motels and a KOA nearby. The daily meetup location will be on Shell Key. If you don't plan to camp, there are plenty of kayak launching sites including the boat ramp. Fort Desoto charges a $5 per day fee.

The Shell Key location doesn't look right on my Home Port charts, but looks better on Google Earth.
