I went to check out this park. I couldn't believe something like this, would be so near Charlotte and I haven't been to it. Just awesome, what a place!!
This makes for a naturally scenic environment for a variety of outdoor activities and peaceful relaxation year round.
This park has everything in one place. Hiking, bring your boat fishing, Cane Creek Park is one of only three trophy bass lakes in North Carolina.
Playground, camping , biking trails , swimming, much more.

I will rent a large Shelter for us.
Please bring your meat to grill dish to share for the cookout if you would like. Very nice area for our picnic lunch. We could spend the day or as long as we wanted.
You can rent a boat, you will need to call for RSVP for your boat.
Since this is Memorial Day, you will need to call soon.

You can take your boat.( Kayak) if you want.
This park is great shape very clean with nice bath houses, they do charge $4.00 per car fee . We should carpool.
I don't even camp, but would do it here. Great prices for camping.

My path didn't appear to cross with the fellow-Waxhaw hiking group attendees, but I did meet some nice folks (from the other meet up groups) yesterday!

    Memorial Day, Hike/Boating/Swimming & Cookout!!

We have 86 people coming. Ground Zero, Charlotte Kayak, Waxhaw Hiking, Anna group 55+New Friends Social and O – 100 hiking group hosting.

You might want to carpool. If anyone has a table could you bring it? that would be great.

I have charcoal for us. I am sure some will bring coolers with ice. No need to bring bags of ice.

I have paper goods. We will eat around 12:30- 1:00 P.M.

You might want to bring chairs. We will have a sign, Meet up.

The only thing else is to have a great time.

Cane Creek Park is really a nice little jewel. It has become more well-known and more popular lately, so expect a good-sized crowd on Memorial Day Monday. I'll be there with my two-person kayak, and I'll be happy to show you the trails.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
